MEDIATION

Resolve Without the Fight

Conflict does not have to mean destruction. Mediation offers a path to fair, lasting agreements—without the emotional toll, financial drain, or uncertainty of a courtroom battle.
With nearly three decades in law as a litigator, Guardian ad Litem, and certified mediator, I bring real-world insight to the negotiating table. I know what judges look for, what agreements hold up, and how to guide parties toward resolution with dignity intact.
Flat-fee mediation sessions. Predictable costs from start to finish—no hourly surprises, no escalating bills. Contact me for current rates.

Why Mediation Works

Mediation puts decisions in your hands, not a judge's. Parties work together with a neutral guide to craft solutions tailored to their circumstances—not a one-size-fits-all court order.
Parties who mediate often find:
Faster resolution. Most matters settle in a fraction of the time litigation requires.
Lower costs. A fraction of what contested court battles typically run.
Better compliance. Agreements parties helped create are agreements they are more likely to honor.
Preserved relationships. Whether family, business, or community ties, mediation protects what matters beyond the dispute.
Confidentiality. What happens in mediation stays in mediation—no public record, no courtroom exposure.

Why Choose Kim Haney as Your Mediator?

Courtroom-tested insight. I have litigated hundreds of cases across family, business, and estate matters. I know when to push, when to listen, and what terms will hold up if tested.
Multi-state experience. Licensed in Mississippi, Alabama, and Alaska, I understand how jurisdictional differences affect disputes and resolutions.
Broad subject matter range. From divorces to business dissolutions, estate disputes to partnership conflicts, I facilitate resolution across practice areas.
Efficient and purposeful. We work at your pace, but we work with intention. My goal is resolution, not endless sessions.

How Mediation Works

Step One: Initial Consultation
We discuss your situation, goals, and whether mediation is the right fit. If all parties are willing to negotiate in good faith, we move forward.

Step Two: Mediation Sessions
In confidential sessions (in-person or virtual), we work through each issue. The number of sessions depends on the complexity of your matter.

Step Three: Resolution
If terms are agreed upon, parties leave with a clear path forward.

What I Mediate

Family Matters
Divorce and separation, parenting plans and custody schedules, child support, post-divorce modifications, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, grandparent and third-party visitation.

Business Disputes
Partnership and shareholder conflicts, contract disputes, business dissolutions and reorganizations, employer-employee matters, buy-sell disagreements.

Estate and Probate Conflicts
Will and trust disputes, heir disagreements, executor and beneficiary conflicts, family property divisions.

Mediation Fees
I offer flat-fee mediation sessions so you know your costs upfront. Fees vary based on the type and complexity of the matter. Contact me for a consultation and current rate information.
